What is Lookiloos?

Lookiloos is a unique, locally-focused, home and garden website for people in search of ideas, inspirations and resources to improve their homes. Featuring professional photo spreads and compelling stories of homes in the greater Bay Area, Lookiloos offers a “sneak peek” into everything from grand new beach houses to tiny bathroom remodels, from luxurious estate grounds to intimate courtyard gardens. Using the latest social media technology, Lookiloos provides a platform where this community can gather, share resources and exchange tips. Lookiloos’ writers also share their opinions about properties and products, bringing their conversations, fantasies and gut reactions online.

Lookiloos and the San Jose Mecury News

Lookiloos and the San Jose Mercury News have recently signed an agreement allowing the publisher to use Lookiloos stories in their paper and on their Web site.  This extends Lookiloos’ “peeks into the style and stories behind every door” to over 200,000 readers of the San Jose Mercury News and over 900,000 visitors to their Web site.  Look for Lookiloos stories in the Home and Garden section.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Lookiloos lets you “in the door” of a local community of aspiring remodelers, do-it-yourselfers, designers, decorators, potential home buyers and sellers and interested consumers. Showcasing great local spaces in photos, stories and blogs, Lookiloos connects a community of home improvers (and home voyeurs) with local builders, decorators, landscapers, shop owners and realtors to make their inspirations a reality.

There are two ways to partner with us – 1.) site sponsorship and 2.) premium section sponsor.

Site Sponsorships

Lookiloos offers sponsorship ad units that are located in the Sponsorship section of every Lookiloos page (125 x 125 pixels).  These sponsors are important to us, and we look for products and services that we feel would be relevant to our targeted and influential audience.

Ad Specs:

• 125 by 125 pixel size
• Preferably the company or product logo
• Will link back to the company product page
• No animations (simple ads)
• We publish a bi-weekly “thank you sponsors” post, which includes text links to sponsor sites

We operate with a minimum term of two months, followed by a
month-to-month plan where either party may terminate the relationship
on 30 days notice.

Premium Section Sponsors

As a Premium Section Sponsor, you have all the benefits of a “Site-wide Sponsor”.  In addition, your logo or ad doubles in size (to 250 x 125 pixels) and receives top placement on the Sponsorship bar on the right side of the page for every main section and any section posts viewed.  There will be only one section sponsor at any given time.

• Peek of the Week

A featured home, highlighting the best of each property.  Photos
and/or video accompany a short post.  This is updated once a week.

• Inside Stories

In-depth backstories of featured, special properties.  This is updated twice a month.

• My Favorite Space

Short videos featuring a local homeowner’s favorite space, for
example, an intimate garden or home office. This is updated twice a month.

• Looki What I Found

Short posts about fun finds in Silicon Valley – highlighting home
décor, garden items and anything that adds to the fantasy of home.  This is updated weekly.

• Weekend Voyeur

This is a lively blog, commenting on open houses throughout the greater Bay Area.  This is updated weekly.

• Q & A

Short interviews with local home designers, architects, general
contractors or real estate professionals.  They offer advice to reader
questions or respond to questions posed by staff.  This is updated
weekly.

• Unreal Estate

Listings of the most expensive and or interesting homes offered in Silicon Valley as listed by public sources.  This is updated weekly.

• The Mud Room

Where we share the real stories of what goes on behind our own remodels, decorating dilemmas, domestic success, and calamities around the house.  This is updated weekly.
