This week I'm totally hooked on outdoor fireplaces. I really want one. I've been compiling a list of all the features I'm looking for in my little backyard oasis.
I want one that includes some seating around it like this one.
Look at the good time they're all having!
Love the mantel on this one…LOVE IT!
I like the stone work on these…
And, lastly I love the Spanish Tiles and that cobalt blue….

I have always wanted an outdoor fireplace like this. It’s on my “dream list” for someday, so I need to bookmark this post for future reference. I really love the third one down, but in real life I need more shade, so maybe a combination of it and the fourth? So hard to choose!
Those turquoise-blue pots on top of the fireplace are gorgeous, too.
Great post, as always. Thanks!
I think my favourite is the third picture, the stone fireplace with the wood mantel and the pink flowers on the table.
But really, I’d be happy with any of them

I think my vote’s with the last one, for being secluded but very stylish. I could take a very happy nap here, for sure!
Wow, we were just talking about needing – Ok, wanting – one of these for our Deckovation (that’s deck renovation). I like the last too I think. But really, I like them all.
Love the concept, I need one of these in my backyard, still chilly here at night in Canada! # 3 (great stonework) is my fave.
Very nice — thought definitely not a possibility for me! Oh well, it’s fun to daydream! Thanks for sharing.
The thing I like best from all your pictures is the rustic brick floor in the last picture.
We have to satisfy ourselves huddling over our gas grill for now. These outdoor rooms spend most of their time looking attractive from inside the house. They can tie inside and outside together to make both look better.
Keeping patio seating clean enough for parties is always an issue.
What lovely fireplaces-I would LOVE to have one of those.
I like the last one! The blue does it for me.
I really like that you can sit in a chair, so the one with the benches is not my favorite but it’s wonderful just the same. In order to get the kids outside, I like the one with the tv the best:)
Definitely the fireplace in Vicki Petullas yard is the most beautiful and rustic.. I love it….I have been in her backyard for a small event,,, and I really admired her home and that beautiful seating area by the chiminea,,,,I have an area in my yard very similar , with a play structure, which will be dissapearing in about 1 year,, and then I have plans to do the same type of seating area…I will bookmark this page for reference,,I also would like info posted about the builder of her fireplace,,, a phone # or contact info would be great…thank you!!!! (Is it gas, or wood burning )…thanks …Judy Stanley
I love the spanish tile and outdoor seating. What a great place to entertain people. The one with the TV is great.
Forget you are outdoors and build it like a living room. Those stone benches will never be really comfortable so think of them as extra seating when you are entertaining. For your own use, furnish the area with the kind of seating you enjoy indoors. The last photo looks like could be the most comfortable and versatile if you make the retaining walls into benches.
We dont have the weather in Scotland to justify a space like this, but my goodness, these are inspiring! I’m currently agonising over whether we can justify the expense of installing a fire in our fire-less bungalow; these photos may just have swung the deal! Love the site, by the way; I came here from Julia’s place.
I love these outdoor fireplaces , I want one…
