This week I am hooked on farmer’s markets. I love when spring is warming the ground and the produce is abundant. Last week I purchased beets. I love beets but have never tried roasting them myself. I had two varieties red and golden.
They turned out perfect and they were so easy. I also forget about rainbow chard. It is just gorgeous and delicious too.
I have two favorite markets. The downtown Campbell market is open on Sundays from 9am to 1pm. If you go be sure to stop in at the Olive Bar for the best olive oil around. You can taste different kinds of oils and vinegars. I purchased the Tuscan-Herb flavored oil and a Tangerine Balsamic vinegar. My second choice is the market at Santana Row. It’s close enough I can ride my bike and the ambiance can’t be beat.
So this weekend, grab a cup of coffee and head out to your local farmer’s market. And then head over to Julia at Hooked on Houses to see what everyone else is hooked on.

nice post! just love farmers markets and especially the flowers
Sarah
How fabulous! Love that last picture with all the flowers. I’d be tempted to take all those buckets home with me!
Have a great weekend!
I love farmers markets too! Our is on Thursdays afternoons, and there is a story time, lots of delicious goodies and great deals on fresh products! Plus I like the fact that I buy locally and support our local farmers.
Have a great day!
Farmers markets are spectacular places — and dangerous ones, too, because I always buy WAY more fresh stuff than I can possibly cook and eat, and then find the “mystery substance” in the veggie crisper weeks later!
But — I think I just need to go more regularly; that way i won’t feel I need to buy everything, every time!
Thanks for the reminder!
