Today I'm taking part in Boo Mama's Christmas House Tour! Be sure to head over there and check out the gorgeous homes there. Our house is a mess, so I decided to give you a tour of my tree ornaments.
I keep imagining that one day I am going to have one of those picture perfect Christmas trees with stunning crystal snowflakes or beautiful hand-painted ornaments.
But then I wake up from the fantasy and remember I am a mom with two young kids who lovingly give me home made ornaments each year
It is also a tradition at our house that the kids get to pick one ornament for the tree to buy and for some reason they always choose cartoon characters. (What was I thinking?)
So you can imagine what our tree looks like – something outta Cartoon Network. Well actually, more like like Dora and Darth Vader lost in a forest. I had a good laugh today as I looked at the tree and noticed that it was particularly sparse on the top. I wondered why and realized that it was because I had a 5 year old assistant. LOL!
Here are two of my favorite home made ornaments.
I've been thinking that while the tree looks kinda Charlie Brownish – it is simply perfect. One day in 15 years or so, I will get my wish and have the chance to place fancy ornaments on my tree. But I am sure that I will look towards the bottom of the tree and look for the plastic Spidey and angel with the hand drawn face and miss them dearly.
Happy Holidays everyone!

You will always look for those ornaments in years to come. They are what makes your tree and are special.
Merry Christmas
This is my first year to have a grown up tree. The kids are teens now and I was actually allowed to leave Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, M&Ms, Snoopy and everybody else in the box in the basement this year. However, I have to say that while I love my new tree I also miss all of those sweet little handmade ornaments made with love. I may have to have two trees next year.
Thanks for letting us see your fun stuff!
